Safety and security:

Cuba is one of the world's safest countries, and Varadero along with it, due to Cuba govertment's Revolutionary politics, but like in any other country and specilly for new travellers not knowig certain facts of Cuba could bring as result that some persons could try to overcharge you, wich is, based in our expirience, the worst you could get from Cuba (like we said, same in any other country).

Honestly, robery and homicide are extremely rare even for cuban nationals.

In order to reduce the risk of theft from luggage during baggage handling in any international airport anywhere in the world, both arrival and departure, remove all valuables, lock suitcase and if possible have them shrink-wrapped before check-in.

Also there are some small number of bogus tour agents and taxi drivers, that's why we strongly recommend not travel with anyone other than your tour operator, in that sense we have a unique number where you can book restaurants, tours and taxies, and safetly get to your destination with a fare rate. If you need to take a taxi on your own please make sure it's a registered one.

Like in any other country beware of pickpockets and don't carry large amounts of cash, avoid wearing expensive jewellery and leave valuables in your room.
